Les beaux rabais de Sobeys...

Ça c'est vendeur, oui monsieur!
Ah oui, la semaine dernière, genre lundi matin, j'étais réveillé pas les cris d'un oiseau non-identifié perché dans l'arbre juste devant la fenêtre de ma chambre. Je regarde dehors et je vois-ti pas un beau geai bleu de très proche, pour commencer la journée. Le lendemain, c'était une tronçonneuse qui me réveillait. Apparemment, les nouveaux proprios n'aiment pas les arbres, ni les geais bleus. Il faut dire que les deux arbres des deux côtés l'entrée étaient techniquement mal placés et bloquaient un peu la vue ben ordinaire que trois chambres ont sur l'autre côté de la rue. Mais ça faisait aussi de l'ombre pour garder au frais. Pis ça attirait les oiseaux. Mais, bon, avec les conservateurs au pouvoir, il faut faire tout ce qui est possible pour éviter de respecter Kyoto...
Quant aux araignées mentionnées hier, il semble qu'un gros paquet de toutes petites créatures se soient infiltrée dans l'appart (possiblement aspirées par le climatiseur). J'en avais vu deux au plafond comme ça. Une, j'aurais rien fait, mais pour deux, c'était un arrêt de mort: la peine capitale pour entrée par infraction et squattage. Alors je les écrase, puis je remarque qu'il y a une toile dans l'abat-jour d'une des lampes, et soudainement je me rends compte qu'il y a beacoup plus de petites araignées que je le pensais. Ça m'a pris le reste de la soirée à les éliminer, et je l'avoue, c'est pas un truc qui aide à dormir.

So last week, on Monday I think, I was woken up by the not so beautiful sounds of an unidentified bird, perched in the tree right next to the bedroom window. It turns out it was a beautiful blue jay (not the Toronto kind) a few inches away. The next day I was awoken by the not so beautiful sounds of a chainsaw. Turns out the new landlords (some faceless company) don't like trees or birds. Admittedly, the two trees next to the entrance were badly placed, as they blocked the bedroom (or possibly dining rooms) windows of three apartments each, not that the sight is otherwise interesting or unavailable through other windows. But the trees provided some really needed shade to keep our room cooler. And attracted birds. But I guess that, with Harper in power, one must do everything possible not to respect Kyoto.
About those spiders I mentioned last time: apparently a large number of really tiny ones had managed to get into the apartment (possibly sucked in through the AC, one much bigger one was stopped by the filter). I just noticed two of them on the ceiling by chance, while lying on my very comfy couch. Now, had there been only one, I wouldn't have bothered, but two meant execution time for the arachnids. So I squash them swiftly, then notice there are spider webs on one (then all) of the lampshades, and I realized there were much more than just two tiny spiders. It took me the rest of the evening to exterminate most of them (including two much bigger ones), I finished the rest the next day. But I gotta say that's not the kind of thing that'll help you sleep at night.

If the provincial government really wanted to help use less power, they'd penalize these apartment owners for blasting our furnaces away all winter, and encourage property owners to plant more trees.
Not to mention that the apartment looks ugly anyway - might as well hide it.
