Un autre "winner"

(English below)

"in some ways i love everything cause it's less of a thing than like, less distinct, less particular. i like things that i like but i love everything. there's more choice in like cause ev".

We have a new champion in matters of google searches that led people to glimpse at my blog for a fraction of a second. To follow-up on these posts, the weirdest query that led here is this:

"in some ways i love everything cause it's less of a thing than like, less distinct, less particular. i like things that i like but i love everything. there's more choice in like cause ev".

It doesn't make any sense, so it's no surprise that it came from someone located in France. It appears that the internet and its intricacies are still very new to the French, just as it was nine years ago, the last time I was there. Maybe they're still stuck with Minitel, who knows? I just hope that by the next time I visit, they'll have left the third world, joined modern civilization and done away with squat toilets, but I highly doubt it.

Since my google-fu is ages ahead of whoever made that google search, I think I found what this silly person was looking for: an equally nonsensical YouTube video.

If you're waiting for my frozen Rideau Canal escapades (or ice-capades), it'll have to wait for another day. But I did, finally, get rid of our old shitty faulty lawnmower (last model still on the shelves at the end of last summer for a reason, the same reason they don't sell it anymore), and used the store credit to purchase a new lawnmower and lots of other things (OK, that old one was not only shitty but pricey, and you have to use all the credit at once). At least Canadian Tire has good customer service, unlike some other stores I will not name. So now we (and by "we", I mean mostly my better half, I gotta work in the summer, and go to Vancouver and Washington DC) can take care of our yard again. Yeah, the backyard is still all weeds. Speaking of random things, it turns out some high school suspicions I had were right. It's funny the things you learn on Facebook.

Asian curse alcohol

(Despite the English title, that version comes second)

It appears that Google and other search engines have found my blog (and not just Google Blog Search, I'm talking about the regular kind, should I blame Google Analytics?). Why this obscure title you may ask? Well, back in the days of my girlfriend's webcomic, Keenspace's trackers kept a log of the keyword searches that led people to the site, and the most bizarre and memorable one we saw was "asian curse alcohol" (tourtiere, or a variation like "tourtiere recipe", was the most common, for those still looking, links to the recipe are on the right side of this page). All this to say that people from all over the world (OK, really, Québec, Canada, France, Belgium and, to quote a certain POTUS with a last name evoking shrubbery, don't forget Poland) have discovered my blog through various, and sometime unexpected, googlings. The bilingual nature of this blog coupled with the holiday season means that a number of them had to do with subjects along the lines of "music de noel" (sic). I am sorry to say that I don't have any East Side Mario's mp3's and that I do not discuss the meaning of the expression "too cute to coke", I hope this does not disappoint new readers too much. And google.ca has made me the first francophone ambassador of the "arena Johnny-Gagnon", though I have fonder memories of the now gone "Anneau de glace"...
